The written word has been used for many centuries to record various information and was often used as a decorative form of art that adorned pillars, statues and walls. In our modern digital age the ability to preserve information is taken for granted, all information, pictures and even music can be stored in digital form. The Beauty of the Written Word explores the beauty and grandeur of the written form allowing it to be appreciated for its beauty as an image.

The Roman alphabet that we use today is recognisable as a form of language, however by using archaic alphabets, the glyphs become unrecognisable shapes. By removing the ability to comprehend the chosen text, the viewers are left to decide the meaning. Further removing the viewers understanding through the Vector Abstraction process creates an environment in which the written word becomes an aesthetic form removed from the obvious content within. This creates a break between the traditional structure and the understanding of that form; the viewer must then create for themselves a new meaning.
